speaking of dams and the harm they cause to the environment, here is an interesting video from Sikkim, Teesta hydel project.

Well, well, this video comes to me as a shock primarily because, the company executing the Teesta Low Dam Stage IV project,is my Intern company. Keller ground engg India private limited.
and other reason being my friend who worked there gave me a lot of positive reviews about the nature of work there.

The work that keller is doing in teesta is cement grouting work, to reduce the permeability of the soil. My colleagues in mumbai said that in cement grouting works generally 3-4 bags of cement is mixed with soil below (in slurry form), This no doubt affects adversely the local soil conditions. Also, the work environment is harsh.(too much of dust).

Thank god ! Btw, my project with keller involved making of stone columns for soil improvement(increase of bearing capacity and min settlements). A totally environmentally safe project!!! only stone and water from a canal were the inputs !!! No co2 production at all!!! Peace!
